After the robots withdrew though, Beth skipped out on the cleanup of the town. While she tried to stay safe, Knuckles would inspire the villagers to fight back against the robots. One day, Beth had to run for her life again when Eggman's malware-infected robots went on an unparalleled blitzkrieg in the Village. Beth was soon after nearly trampled by a widabit stampede while in the Village Center, but was saved in the last moment by Sonic. Some time afterwards, Beth found the time to play with other kids on the beach. She would therefore scorn Tails when the fox showed that his "Muckfoot" was just Knuckles covered in mud. When Tails later seemingly proved Muckfoot's existence with a photo, Beth would look up to Tails as a hero and take part in the ensuing Muckfoot Mania. However, Beth felt overlooked when Tails and Knuckles got caught up in a shared experiment, and she began following Sticks around when the badger's wild theories caught her interest. While amazed by Tails' work, Beth got more invested in seeing Knuckles break stuff after she (under Lady Walrus' watch) saw Team Sonic fight Eggman while following Tails. Winning the Science Fair Awards with her space diorama, Beth got a trophy and the right to observe the local top scientist, Tails. Thanks to Team Sonic and Dave though, Beth was rescued, along with Meh Burger. Upon attending the reopening of the improved Meh Burger however, Beth and the villagers got trapped in a force-field and sent towards space in Meh Burger by Eggman. Coming to Meh Burger, Beth received premium service from the new robot employees (courtesy of Eggman) before watching Dave the Intern lose his job to one of these robots in a contest. Beth later had to be evacuated from the youth center when Eggman attempted to destroy it. Eventually wanting the town renamed, Beth agreed to a referendum between Amy and Eggman's name propositions at another meeting. While at a town meeting, Beth learned that their village was named after Sticks' evil ancestor, Jebediah Badger. During a power outage in the Unnamed Village soon after, Beth would riot alongside the others villagers. She would also run from the Egg Tank when Orbot invaded the Village. Beth was later inspired to buy some Fuzzy Puppy figurines from Orbot and resell one of them to a mystery buyer, unaware that Orbot was manipulating her. She would later attack Sticks when she came to the rescue, but was freed when Team Sonic foiled Eggman's plan. Eggman's zombie slave, who had her and the hypnotized villagers build a world-controlling satellite. Later hypnotized by Dreamcaster's TV broadcasts, Beth became Dr. She soon tried asking Sonic for his autograph, only to scare Sonic, who had just escaped an insane fan, away. Īnother time, Beth came to Career Day to hear other people elaborate on their careers. She would soon after flee from the Village Center when Eggman launched an ambush on said location. Although Beth did not get a spot, Team Sonic would stop the asteroid. Hearing that an asteroid would impact the earth, Beth showed up to buy a spot in Eggman's bunker to ride out the impending apocalypse in. For attire, she wears a white t-shirt with puffy sleeves, short-legged blue overalls, white gloves, and greenish-grey boots with white soles. Curiously, she also has a dark pink streak down each of her quills. She has a long and sharp muzzle with a black snout, dark eyelids, a short tail, a longer-than-average torso, two round ears, thin limbs and four horizontal quills arranged in a line down the back of her head. Appearanceīeth is a pink-furred, anthropomorphic shrew with pale peach skin and dark blue eyes. Her voice and manner of speaking were based on a character from Fibber McGee and Molly, an old radio show that Freiberger liked when he was a kid. Beth the Shrew was named after Bill Freiberger's wife, Beth Sussman.
